The GMH Foundation is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need throughout Ventura County. Through compassionate giving and community partnerships, we provide support and essential goods to families, children, and animals, helping local organizations meet needs in our community.
OUR STORY
Founded in 1993, the Gary M. Holzapfel Foundation was established to carry forward a lifelong commitment to helping others. Inspired by personal experiences, community values, and gratitude for the care received through UCLA Health, the Foundation has grown into a grantmaking organization dedicated to supporting those in need.
For more than 30 years, the GMH Foundation has supported individuals, families, charitable organizations, and animal welfare initiatives, with a particular focus on making a meaningful difference in Ventura County communities.
Through gifts of essential goods and supplies, the Foundation responds to needs within our community and helps provide comfort, care, and hope when it is needed most.

The GMH Foundation is dedicated to improving lives through compassionate giving and community support.
We support children, families, and animals facing difficult circumstances, as well as the local organizations that care for them. Our giving is focused on providing meaningful resources where they can have the greatest impact, with a particular commitment to the communities of Ventura County.
We believe that helping others can take many forms. Sometimes it means providing something that is urgently needed, sometimes it means offering comfort during a difficult time, and sometimes it simply means letting someone know that their community cares.
