Backpacks for Kids Program
The GMH Foundation's Backpacks for Kids Program helps local students begin the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
Through partnerships with schools and community organizations throughout Ventura County, the Foundation distributes backpacks filled with essential items, including:
- School supplies
- Water bottles
- Personal care items
- Hand sanitizer
- Other age-appropriate necessities
In addition to backpacks and school supplies, the Foundation helps provide students with essential items such as jackets, shoes, and other resources that support their health, comfort, and academic success throughout the year.
Our goal is simple: to help ensure that every child has the tools and confidence needed to participate fully in their education and daily activities.
By investing in local students, we invest in the future of our community.
Family Support Programs
The GMH Foundation also serves Ventura County families facing financial hardship, domestic challenges, and other difficult circumstances, including farm worker families and children in foster care.
Throughout the year, we provide seasonal and ongoing assistance designed to bring comfort, dignity, and practical support to those in need. Programs Include:
- Thanksgiving Family Baskets with food and holiday meal essentials
- Mother's Day Care Baskets featuring robes, spa headbands, self-care items, shampoo, mugs, and gift cards
- Easter and Christmas baskets for children
- Winter jacket distributions and cold-weather essentials
- Monthly distributions of toiletries, personal care products, and household necessities
Through our volunteers and community partners, we help ensure that children and families throughout Ventura County receive the support, encouragement, and resources they need to thrive.
